Hisense is building a new factory in Valjevo

Hisense will invest over 40 million euros in a new factory for the production of state-of-the-art refrigerators in Valjevo. In the new Valjevo 3 factory, refrigerators of the Hisense, Gorenje and Asko brands will be produced, mainly for export to demanding European markets. We plan to finish the works and open the factory in February next year.

Gorenje has been successfully operating in Valjevo for 16 years and provides more than 1,600 jobs to the residents of Valjevo and the Kolubara district. The launch of the new factory will mean the employment of an additional 1,000 workers in the next three years. The factory is being built next to the existing Gorenje factory, where we are building a modern production hall of 30,000 m2 with warehouses and a new restaurant for employees.

The planned production in the new factory will amount to 750.000 side-by-side refrigerators per year, and the total production in all three Gorenje plants in Valjevo will amount to 1.7 million appliances per year by 2025. We export the refrigerators from Valjevo all over Europe.

Since the opening of the first factory in Valjevo, we have produced more than 9 million refrigerators and freezers, and in 2021 alone we exceeded 950,000 produced appliances. As much as 92% of all production was exported to European markets, which placed this factory on the list of the largest exporters from Serbia.

Since 2018, Gorenje has been part of the multinational corporation Hisense, one of the world's leading manufacturers of consumer electronics and household appliances, with more than 90,000 employees worldwide. Hisense is focused on the latest technological trends to develop innovative customer-friendly solutions that can significantly increase the consumer's quality of life. It bases its activities on a strong distribution network around the world, especially in Europe.

Hisense is constantly investing in strengthening its European production and R&D base. In addition to the investment in the new factory in Valjevo, important investments were made in the establishment of the Hisense Europe Electronics factory in Velenje (2021), where we produce Hisense televisions for European markets, and this year we will also open the Hisense Europe R&D Center in Velenje, where our engineers will develop appliances under Hisense, Gorenje and Asko brands for the global market.

As the European part of the Hisense Group, Hisense Europe includes production facilities in Serbia, Slovenia and the Czech Republic, development centers in Sweden, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Slovenia, and 27 sales companies across Europe.
