Golden award for Gorenje innovators 2015

Golden award for Gorenje innovators 2015
Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) presented today the national awards for the most innovative companies and innovators at enterprises and public research institutes. Gorenje's innovators won the golden award for the new generation of built-in ovens. Gorenje is a perennial winner of the SCCI innovation awards.

Gorenje unveiled its new generation of built-in ovens last September at the IFA international tradeshow in Berlin. To date, these appliances have been launched in most markets across the globe. Despite being among the largest in the market in terms of cavity volume, the innovative technology they employ keeps power consumption of the new generation built-in ovens very low. They have been developed in two versions, differing by height: in addition to the standard 60-centimetre design, there is a compact 45-centimetre version which has seen an increase in market shares. In new ovens, it is of key importance to allow conventional cooking as well as cooking with microwaves and steam which is considered a very healthy food preparation method.

One competitive advantage boasted by Gorenje's built-in ovens is the special patented oven cavity shape called HomeMade that emulates the operation of a traditional wood-fired oven. In addition to over 100 automatic cooking programs, experienced users are offered the option to dial in their own programs consisting of several user-programmable steps.

Boštjan Pečnik, executive director of development at the Gorenje Group, talks about the innovation: "Our new ovens, a result of team work of employees from several areas within the Gorenje Group, are an innovative product as a whole. These are highly competitive appliances that comply with all trends in the segment, such as uniform design, excellent functionality, user-friendliness, and use of advanced technology like steam, microwaves."

The new generation has already found acclaim in the international expert community. The built-in oven with the interactive colour touch screen won the coveted international design award Red Dot, and the combined steam oven was awarded the Plus X Award in Germany.
