Gorenje granted financial incentive by the Serbian Government for the Valjevo plant
The Minister of Forestry and Regional Development of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Nebojša Čirić, and the managing director of Gorenje's subsidiary in Valjevo Mr. Mirko Meža, signed today an Annex to the Agreement on an FDI Grant. The purpose of the grant in the amount of EUR 400,000 is the provision of permanent employment for 200 persons.
Gorenje's Valjevo plant manufactures refrigerator freezer models that extend the product assortment of the Velenje plant in order to improve the brand's competitiveness in down-market segments in the European Union and beyond. Serbian government had previously provided EUR 340,000 to support permanent employment of 170 persons at this plant.
