On March 19th and 20th, Planica Valley under the Ponca Mountains hosted the 30th World Championship ski jump competition where Gorenje again appeared as a sponsor of the event.

Fans of Slovenian ski flyers set their hopes high on the performance of Robert Kranjec, the best ski jumper and ski flyer in Slovenian national Nordic team and holder of Slovenian ski jump record at 229 meters, who had flown past the 200 meter mark ninety times in his career. His convincing victory in the qualification round was fuel for the fire, and his final fifth place was a solid result winning him a place in the top ten in the final overall season standings, as well as the small Crystal Globe for topping the ski flying standings.
